War Thunder has opened its October monthly decal set, replacing the usual presentation with a Halloween-themed group of skulls, ghosts and a black cat. Five markings are new to this rotation, while the German Tiefseefisch emblem returns from an earlier event.
The event has a fixed one-month window
Gaijin Entertainment says the tasks are available from October 12 at 11:00 GMT until November 12 at 09:00 GMT. Eligible tasks require Rank III vehicles or higher. Progress can be checked from Player Profile, then Decals and Monthly Decals; individual tasks can also be pinned from that screen.
The aircraft-focused pair consists of Kazimir Rudzit’s personal marking for Soviet vehicles and the French SPA 91 emblem. Their requirements are different: the Rudzit marking asks players to defeat 50 opponents with Soviet aircraft, while SPA 91 requires 15,000 mission score with French aircraft.
Three more designs cover tanks and aircraft
Rice’s Red Devils hull art is tied to American ground vehicles and requires three top-three finishes. Gaijin notes that the art has been shaped for use on a wider range of tank hulls rather than only the Sherman associated with the historical design.
The Black Cat Squadron emblem requires 20 battles in Chinese aircraft with at least 60 percent battle activity. The 337th Squadron Ghost tail art asks for 20 missile defeats while flying Greek or Israeli aircraft. These conditions make the set more than a login reward: players must use several national trees and, in some cases, specific weapon types.
The returning emblem now has a task route
The Tiefseefisch emblem previously appeared as a Golden Eagles item. For this rotation, it can be unlocked through a regular task: finish first in a battle while using German boats or ships. The change gives players who skipped the earlier paid route another way to obtain it.
Once the monthly period ends, the markings move from the dedicated Monthly Decals tab into their corresponding customization categories. Players planning to collect several should check each task separately rather than assuming progress carries across the whole set. The official announcement lists no universal shortcut and does not promise that unfinished progress will remain after the deadline.
