Ravenswatch Adds Kintarō and Reworks More Than 50 Talents

Kintarō and Kuma fighting enemies in Ravenswatch

Passtech Games has released the Kintarō Hero DLC for Ravenswatch alongside a free update for every player. The paid expansion adds Kintarō and his bear, Kuma, as a paired playable hero. The accompanying update changes talents, adds custom lobbies and includes balance and quality-of-life work.

One hero slot, two controllable characters

Kintarō and Kuma use mounted and dismounted stances rather than a single fixed kit. While mounted, the pair have Claw Swipes, Charge, Leap and Roar. Dismounting gives Kintarō an axe attack, Whirl and Pound, a double leap, and a combined Roar and Shout defense. Passtech says Kuma can be directed with the right stick on a controller or with the mouse and A on keyboard and mouse.

The DLC also contains two ultimate abilities, 26 unlockable talents and seven fully voiced memoir pages. Four outfits can be unlocked through play, while three are premium outfits. Steam players receive three new achievements. Passtech lists the DLC at $7.99, €7.99 or £6.49, with regional storefronts determining the final local price.

The larger systems changes are free

Players do not need the character DLC to receive the update’s broader changes. The official summary says more than 50 talents have been adjusted, strengthened or replaced. Custom lobbies are also part of the free release, along with balancing and quality-of-life changes detailed in the full patch notes.

There is one immediate warning for anyone with an unfinished session. Passtech says the scale of the content changes causes runs already in progress to be discarded after updating. Overall account progress is not affected. Finishing an active run before installing the update is therefore the safer option.

What the release changes in practice

The release separates its additions into two clear groups. Buying the DLC unlocks Kintarō, Kuma and their character-specific progression and cosmetics. Installing the free update changes the shared game systems and opens custom lobbies regardless of whether the new hero is owned. That distinction matters for returning groups: every player can use the revised talent pool, but only DLC owners can select the new pair.

The official announcement confirms availability on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It does not provide independent performance results for any platform, and this report does not make claims about balance quality or how the new hero performs in live runs.
