Activision has published the full launch Multiplayer lineup for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, confirming 33 Operators and 33 weapons ahead of the October 23 release. The official breakdown introduces a per-loadout Operator system and a shared attachment unlock model, both of which change how players build and organize their loadouts.

One Operator for every loadout

The Operator field now sits at the top of Create-a-Class, so each loadout can carry a different Operator instead of a single selection applied across the account. A Multiplayer challenge Operator such as Blackwell or Zimo can sit beside a matching weapon and Perk build. The change is small on screen but removes a long-standing restriction on how the roster is used.

How the 33 Operators unlock

The roster splits across several unlock paths. Five Operators from the South Korean Quick Reaction Force are available immediately, and Hunter Killer comes from a Digital Standard or Vault Edition pre-order. Eight Operators are Vault Edition exclusives, and another eight unlock by completing specific campaign missions, from Cho after Mayhem to Park after Decapitation. Four more unlock through DMZ player levels 4, 9, 15, and 19. Five are tied to Multiplayer challenges, including Blackwell’s three Operator kills without dying ten times and Zimo’s 50 headshot kills. Kyle requires the Call of Duty Endowment Valor Pack, and Ju Kwon’s path is listed as classified.

Because 20 of the 33 Operators come from Vault Edition, campaign, and DMZ progress, a player who plays Multiplayer alone cannot fill the roster.

Weapons, shared attachments, and the Apex tier

The 33 launch weapons break down as 24 Primary, eight Secondary, and one Melee weapon, the FSS Carbon Edge 1095 knife. Create-a-Class unlocks at Player Level 4, and weapons arrive at level milestones such as the Han 86 at level 4, the M4 at level 14, and the Kastov 762 at level 34.

Attachments now unlock once and carry across every compatible weapon, removing the need to re-level the same attachment for each gun. Fully leveling a supported weapon unlocks an Apex Attachment and grants access to Weapon Prestige. Apex Attachments occupy their own slot: the Han 86’s Han X20 Skybreaker adds a 20mm airburst launcher that blocks the Optic, Stock, and Barrel slots, while the M4’s M4 Hurricane re-chambers the rifle in 5.7x28mm.

Equipment, Perks, and Killstreaks

The Multiplayer suite includes nine Tacticals, 11 Lethals, 12 Field Upgrades, and 17 Killstreaks, all on level-gated unlock lists. Perks return as a Pick 3 system with 18 total across three categories of six. Activision confirms Warzone content integration does not arrive until Season 1 later this year.
