Cult of the Lamb is changing how Steam shows its achievements and bringing back its Halloween event. In an October 19 announcement on Steam, developer Massive Monster said the Woolhaven DLC achievement list now sits apart from the base game’s list, and that the Blood Moon Festival returns from October 24 through November 10.
The achievement change is a display adjustment rather than new content. Steam recently added a way to list downloadable-content achievements separately from base-game achievements, and Cult of the Lamb has applied that split to Woolhaven. Players who do not own the DLC will no longer see its achievements mixed into the base-game count, which means a base-game clear is not gated behind paid goals. DLC owners can still read both lists, and earned achievements stay intact.
Blood Moon Festival runs October 24 to November 10
The Blood Moon Festival is a timed in-game event. To begin, players confirm their system date and time are set correctly, then perform the Blood Moon Ritual. Because the event reads the device clock, an incorrect date can stop the ritual from appearing.
Once the ritual is done, ghosts linger around the player’s base for three days, and catching them unlocks rewards in two groups:
- Follower forms: Cursed Crow, Vampiric Demon, or Skeletal Deer.
- Decorations: Blood Moon Candle, Blood Moon Skull, Blood Moon Tree, or Blood Moon Pumpkin.
Players who have already collected every item receive 3 Divine Inspiration points per catch instead, so ghost hunting remains useful after the set is complete.
Timing and what the announcement leaves open
The three-day ghost window means a player who wants the full three days inside the event period should trigger the ritual by November 7. Massive Monster did not state that cutoff; it follows from the published October 24 to November 10 window. The announcement also does not list drop rates, how many ghosts appear each day, or whether every catch guarantees a new item.
