Path of Exile Halloween Cosmetics Return, But Most Are Path of Exile 1-Only

Grinding Gear Games has released its annual Halloween microtransaction set across both Path of Exile games, but this year’s drop carries a practical catch for Path of Exile 2 players. Of the nineteen seasonal items, six work in both games right now, while the remaining thirteen are available only in Path of Exile 1 and are queued for a Path of Exile 2 port with no announced date.

The six cross-game items

The items usable in both games today are all character or pet cosmetics: the Devil Tail Hip Attachment, the Skeleton Skin, the Wide-brimmed Witch Hat, the Severed Arm Weapon Skin, the Ghost Dog Pet, and the Mummified Giant Sphynx Pet. For a Path of Exile 2 player, these six are the only purchases that take effect immediately.

The thirteen Path of Exile 1-only items

The Path of Exile 1-only list is wider, spanning hideout, effect, and wearable cosmetics: Hallowed Fireworks, the Doomcrow Apparition Effect, the Dancing Skeleton Pet, the Entombed Hideout, Devil Horns, Bleeding Eyes, the Spider Web Cloak, the Spider Back Attachment, the Scare Mask Helmet Skin, the Sword Through Helmet Attachment, the Hallowed Grave Decoration, the Jack-o’-Lantern Patch, and the Guillotine Portal Effect.

Grinding Gear Games has not said why these thirteen trail behind, or when the Path of Exile 2 ports will arrive. The practical consequence is that a Path of Exile 2 player who buys one now is paying for an item they cannot use until an unannounced port finishes, while a Path of Exile 1 player can use every listed item immediately.

A limited window and a guaranteed return

The full set stays in the store until 4pm Pacific on Tuesday, November 11, after which it leaves until next Halloween. Grinding Gear Games frames the drop as an annual event, so missing the window costs roughly a year of use rather than the items permanently.

The announcement covers microtransactions only. These are cosmetic items that change how a character, pet, hideout, or portal effect looks, and the post lists no changes to character balance, skill behavior, progression, or game content. Their value is aesthetic or collection-based rather than competitive.

What Path of Exile 2 players should check first

For a Path of Exile 2 player, the six cross-game items are the safe choice for instant use; anything else adds an unannounced port wait on top of the seasonal gap. Collectors filling a multi-year set should treat the November 11 cutoff as the last chance to close gaps before the next Halloween.
