Beast of Reincarnation is closing out the rapid update cadence it has kept since its August launch. Developer Game Freak and publisher Fictions plan one more patch, currently scheduled for October 19 with the final date still to be set, and describe it as the last entry in this phase of major post-launch updates.
What the announcement says
Game Freak posted the news on X on October 16, framing the next release around October 20 Japan time. Fictions’ patch notes are more specific: the next patch is “currently planned for Oct 19th (final date TBD)” and will be “the final patch in this ongoing phase of major post-launch updates.” Both dates remain provisional, so the patch could land later than either target.
The wording is deliberately narrow about what ends. Frequent major updates stop, but support does not. Support tickets stay open, and the team says it hopes to address remaining major concerns “either in next week’s planned patch or a later update.” That leaves room for future fixes without committing to a schedule or scope.
What the latest patch already changed
The current notes cover version 1.1.01, the eighth update since launch. Its headline addition is a story-progression option called Hasten to the Capital, which unlocks after clearing the mid-game Great Wall Terraces Zone. Choosing it skips Pilgrim’s Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone, and Fuji Frontier Zone so players reach the Capital sooner. The trade-off is that, in a New Game run, achievements tied to those three zones cannot be earned; they can still be unlocked in New Game+ by taking the Mountain Route.
The same patch added a field-of-view setting on PC and a toggle for cutscene skip prompts, along with pacing and staging adjustments to cutscenes. It also fixed skip-related soft locks and lingering subtitles, an Entanglement Overdrive cancel that toggled lock-on, and a bug where the wolf companion Koo used items on staggered enemies. Effect-generation load was redistributed to improve performance, and submersion detection depth and collision boundaries were adjusted across zones.
What to do before October 19
Because the date is provisional, the practical step is to confirm the installed version on the title screen rather than assume a storefront finished updating. Anyone waiting on a specific fix should read the upcoming notes directly and, if it is absent, file feedback through Fictions Support before the cycle closes. A later patch is possible but not guaranteed.
Beast of Reincarnation is an action RPG starring Emma and her wolf companion Koo, available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
