TF2 Patch Repairs Dragon’s Fury Crash and Halloween Maps

Team Fortress 2 gameplay with RED and BLU characters in combat

Valve released a Team Fortress 2 update on October 12 that fixes a Dragon’s Fury exploit capable of crashing a server. The patch installs automatically when the game restarts. It also repairs a regression in the Sandwich Diner war paint and expands the in-game item importer to recognize the Medic’s backpack bodygroup.

Cosmetics and Unusual effects receive targeted fixes

The General’s Greatcoat now has a “No Grenades” style, while The Damage Dealer has revised style names. Valve also restored the missing BLU skin and replaced low-resolution materials on the Hat of Undeniable Wealth and Respect. The Flor de Muerto Unusual effect was adjusted to reduce visual clutter, and Electric Impulse was changed to improve visibility.

These are narrow maintenance changes rather than a new content drop. Players who use the affected items should see the corrections after restarting the game, while server operators gain the crash-exploit fix without a separate manual package.

Sawmill and Trainsawlaser change how matches flow

On koth_sawmill_event, the team that loses the control point now receives portals in its spawn room. Valve describes the addition as an attempt to help that team recover. The same map update repairs RED’s unusable teleport spawn, point-capture particles, moving eyes beneath the point, roof clipping near RED spawn and underworld kill-zone damage numbers. It also changes overlays and includes a small Luxel optimization.

koth_trainsawlaser receives broader performance work and slightly shorter respawn times. The patch adds building restrictions to rooftops and spaces beneath stairs, revises particle effects and marks less important particles as weather effects so players can disable them. It also closes shots through balcony railings, a train-floor trap outside spawn, a floating light and repeated vphysics console messages.

Zombie Infection maps get interface and spawn repairs

Valve updated zi_atoll, zi_blazehattan, zi_devastation_final1, zi_murky, zi_sanitarium and zi_woods. Shared fixes stop Zombie ability icons from becoming a white line between level changes and prevent the Heal icon from drawing a gray line on screen. zi_murky also regains missing human spawn triggers and permits rooftop building after the removal of blocking volumes. Four of the other maps receive additional clipping and trigger corrections.
