ZeniMax Online Studios is adding solo dungeon versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices to The Elder Scrolls Online, launching with Season Two: Echoes of Skyrim on October 21, 2026. The two dungeons come from the Wolfhunter DLC, which becomes free for all players on October 19, and the solo versions are free seasonal content available through the end of Season Two on January 27, 2027. The season is built around Tamriel’s monster slayers, and the two solo dungeons are its headline addition.
Each solo dungeon adapts group mechanics for a single player, and players can bring a Companion. Senior Encounter Designer Sean Wicks said the team retuned values and ability scope so encounters feel fair for one person rather than just running a group dungeon alone, while keeping the spirit of each fight. He added that group-tuned mechanics that would be punishing for a solo player were adapted, and that the team wanted both casual players and challenge-seekers to have a reason to run the solo version. Senior Encounter Designer Lauren Kaiser said some mechanics are now targeted specifically at the Companion rather than the player.
At each solo dungeon’s entrance, players can activate Meted Misfortunes to raise the stakes. Individual Misfortunes carry their own effects, such as Warm Welcome, which doubles incoming damage, and any active Misfortune raises monster and boss stats and lets them draw on more of their arsenal. Up to three can be active at once for Dauntless difficulty, the hardest version. Kaiser noted that a typical overland build works with no Misfortunes active, but stacking them rewards reworking a build to meet the added pressure.
Rewards scale with difficulty. Solo dungeons pay out a new Undaunted Crest currency in increasing amounts, spent with Veya Thenim in the Undaunted Enclave on items including Cultivated Cryptpod alchemical reagents and style materials. Two new two-piece monster sets are also on offer, with masks dropping from final bosses and shoulders sold by Veya Thenim. Completing runs can also yield style pages for the new sets, bust and trophy furnishings, Nowhere Keys, and pieces of legendary companion equipment, including chests and two-handed melee weapons. Many of these rewards increase as difficulty rises.
