InterAction studios has opened a Chicken Invaders Collection preview through the Xbox Insider program, letting players on Xbox consoles and Windows PC try the full arcade shooter saga before it launches. The preview went live on September 24 and bundles the entire series into a single collection for the first time since the original Chicken Invaders arrived in 1999.
The collection casts players as humanity’s last line of defense against waves of intergalactic chickens out for revenge. It combines fast-paced arcade shooting with large-scale boss fights and an original orchestral soundtrack. Missions can be tackled solo or in co-op with up to eight players, and the preview is open to longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Joining the preview requires a few steps inside the Xbox Insider Hub. Players sign in on an Xbox console or Windows PC and open the Xbox Insider Hub app, installing it from the Store first if it is missing. From there they navigate to Previews, select Chicken Invaders Collection, and choose Join. Once registration completes, the app directs them to the Store to install the Chicken Invaders Collection Demo, which is the build used during the preview.
InterAction studios is using the preview to collect feedback before release. Participants can complete Chicken Invaders Collection surveys in the Xbox Insider Hub, and Xbox players who hit problems can report them through Report a Problem by holding the home button, choosing the Games category, and selecting the Chicken Invaders Collection Demo subcategory. The studio says that feedback will help prepare the collection for launch.
The preview runs through the Xbox Insider Hub rather than a standard store listing, so players sign in with an Xbox account on a console or Windows PC to take part. Because it is a pre-release demo, content and performance may change before the full collection ships.
