Owlcat Games has delayed “Processional of the Damned,” the fourth and final expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, from its September target to December 2026. The studio announced the change and the first concrete details of the DLC in two Steam posts published on September 24.
Owlcat wrote that the expansion would not be ready in time to ship in September and set the release window to December 2026, adding that it is not expected to move any further. Season Pass 2 owners on Steam can request a refund through Steam Customer Support; that refund removes both Processional of the Damned and the earlier Infinite Museion DLC from the buyer’s account. The Appearance Pack bundled into Season Pass 2 will instead become free and fold into the base game for everyone, a change that arrives slightly later on platforms other than Steam.
The DLC introduces Stella, a companion Owlcat calls a Miraculist. She is an unsanctioned psyker raised by the Ecclesiarchy whose combat role centers on an area-of-effect aura named Psychic Trail. The aura widens as veil degradation worsens, and Stella can spend a small portion of her wounds to trigger Psychic Flare, a burst drawn from the Pyromancy, Sanctic, or Divination disciplines. Her abilities always land as area-of-effect attacks rather than single-target strikes.
The expansion also adds the Zealot, a first-tier melee archetype built around bludgeoning weapons, including thrown weapons and area-of-effect abilities. The Miraculist origin is reserved for Stella, but players can select the Zealot for their own Lord Captain during character creation. A new Insanity system behaves differently for each companion, and Stella carries a deeper tie to it. The DLC’s enemies include servants of the Arch Enemy and Aeldari from a Craftworld not previously seen in the Koronus Expanse.
Owlcat rounded out the announcement with a Grenade Launcher weapon type, a new romance option, new companion events, new items, and new space-exploration options. The studio framed the delay as a trade-off, writing that being late is better than rushing the expansion at all costs, and said more artwork, narrative, and gameplay details would follow in the coming weeks.
