ARC Raiders Frozen Trail Adds Pendola Pass and a Grappling Hook

ARC Raiders gameplay scene

Embark Studios has released Frozen Trail, the 2.0 update for ARC Raiders. The patch adds a snowy map, three ARC enemies, two weapons and several traversal and utility tools. It also rebuilds the skill tree and replaces the previous Raider Deck progression model.

Pendola Pass expands the map rotation

The new region is Pendola Pass, a mountain area beyond the Rust Belt. Frozen Trail also adds two map conditions, Frigate and Redirection. The enemy roster grows with the Bully, Skulker and Hydra, while the Bantam and Stiletto join the weapon pool.

Raiders have several new ways to move or control a fight. The Grappling Hook supports faster vertical and horizontal traversal. The Tether Launcher can attach targets to objects, while the Yank Grenade pulls objects or combatants. Basic and Advanced Cameras, a detector and two playable instruments round out the new item list.

The skill tree now asks for explicit choices

Embark says the old tree did not produce enough distinct builds. In the revised layout, a middle node presents a choice between two skills. At the end of each branch, players can take two of three available skills after meeting the investment requirement. Existing skills were also moved, changed or replaced, and the studio expects to tune the tree after seeing how players use it.

Frozen Trail introduces the Outpost as another long-term system. Completing its project unlocks the location and a research station. Players can expand it with modules and find furniture designs while exploring. The update lists 100 designs in total, split among the world, Outpost upgrades, the Frozen Trail pass and downloadable content.

Reward Points replace Cred

The new Reward Pass uses Reward Points instead of Cred. Only one pass can be active at a time. Previously owned Raider Decks move into a Legacy Pass, and rewards already earned remain granted. The first Frozen Trail pass has 60 levels across free and premium tracks.

The patch also raises the maximum stash size by two levels, adds 22 quests and introduces weapon stencils. Its fix list covers animation, audio, enemies, maps, quests, user interface and performance. IGN’s report linked the update with renewed Steam activity, but concurrent-player figures are time-sensitive; the official notes establish what changed in the game, not whether that increase will last.
