Doom Revelations Adds Endless Slaughter Mode in November

Doom Slayer fights demons in Doom: The Dark Ages — Revelations

id Software plans to add Slaughter Mode to Doom: The Dark Ages — Revelations in November. The free update will give the expansion an endless single-player challenge built around increasingly difficult demon waves.

An endurance test across several arenas

Game director Hugo Martin announced the mode during an October 1 Slayers Club Live broadcast. Players will move through multiple arenas while each round raises the pressure. A run continues as long as the player survives, with the game recording both the round reached and the score.

Slaughter Mode also awards cosmetics. id Software has not listed those rewards or explained how they unlock, so the announcement does not establish whether progress carries between attempts. It also leaves the scoring rules, arena rotation and difficulty curve for a later reveal.

The date is still a window

The studio identified November as the release month but did not give a specific day. That makes the update a confirmed part of the near-term plan for Revelations, not a dated patch that players can schedule around yet.

The mode is tied to the Revelations expansion. The announcement calls the update free, but it does not say that the expansion itself will become free or that Slaughter Mode will be added to the base campaign. Players should expect access details and final patch notes closer to release.

The structure shifts attention from the expansion’s authored encounters to repeatable survival. Round and score records give each attempt a measurable target, while escalating waves reduce the chance that a successful route stays comfortable for long. Details such as leaderboards, modifiers and reward requirements remain unconfirmed.

Doom: The Dark Ages — Revelations is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official Steam listing supplies gameplay screenshots for the expansion, while the Slayers Club broadcast provides the developer’s announcement of the new mode.
