Squadron 42 Steam Page Sets a Q2 2027 Release Window

Squadron 42 now has an official Steam store page, giving Cloud Imperium Games’ single-player space campaign a Q2 2027 release window on PC. The listing remains marked “Coming soon” and does not show a price, so it establishes a launch period rather than a precise release date.

What the Steam listing confirms

The store identifies Cloud Imperium Games Ltd and Cloud Imperium Games Texas LLC as developers. Roberts Space Industries International Ltd and Roberts Space Industries LLC are listed as publishers. Players can already add the game to their Steam wishlists.

The official description places the player in the UEE Navy, where ship combat, on-foot fighting and exploration unfold across capital ships, stations and frontier outposts. Steam classifies the title as action, adventure and simulation. The page also carries a fifteen-image screenshot gallery showing spacecraft, character scenes and ground combat.

PC requirements and platform features

The minimum specification calls for Windows 11, a quad-core processor, 16 GB of RAM and a DirectX 11.1-compatible graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM. The same requirements section lists DirectX 12. Cloud Imperium has not supplied a recommended configuration on the page, and the minimum listing does not state a storage requirement.

Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, HDR availability and Family Sharing are listed as supported features. The page also advertises full controller support for DualShock and DualSense devices. English includes interface, audio and subtitle support, while several additional languages are listed for interface and subtitles.

What remains open

The Q2 window covers April through June 2027, but the store page does not narrow that range. It also does not provide a price, preorder package or recommended hardware target. Those omissions matter for anyone deciding when to upgrade a PC or commit to a purchase: the current page is useful as a platform and timing confirmation, not as a complete launch plan.

The appearance of an official Steam page is nevertheless a concrete distribution step. It gives prospective players a first-party place to track the release and separates confirmed PC details from older estimates or community speculation. Until Cloud Imperium publishes a specific date, the Q2 2027 window should be treated as the publisher’s current target.
