Three games, three different commitments
F1 25 is the PS5-only racing entry. Its single-player options include Career and My Team 2.0, which puts the player in charge of a Formula 1 team. F1 World also includes a squad-based multiplayer mode where friends race together against AI drivers.
Hunt: Showdown 1896, also offered on PS5, is the most demanding multiplayer choice. Teams of up to three track bosses, collect bounties, and try to extract while competing with other hunters. Solo entry is available, but it removes the support of two possible teammates. The monthly-game offer supplies the base game; Sony separately lists a starter pack among October’s member extras.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is available on both PS5 and PS4. Players build four-character teams from rescued soldiers and fight large groups of voxel-styled enemies. The game supports four-player online co-op and two-player local split screen, making it the only October title in this group with a stated couch co-op option.
Claim dates and platform limits matter
The October games become available Tuesday, October 6 and remain claimable until Monday, November 2. Sony notes that monthly-game lineups can vary by region, so members should confirm each listing in their local PlayStation Store when the offer opens.
September’s games leave first. Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes can be added through October 5. Claiming a monthly game adds it to the member’s library, but continued access depends on an active PlayStation Plus subscription.

Groups that want high-stakes competitive sessions have Hunt: Showdown 1896, while households seeking local co-op have a clear fit in World Brothers 2.
