Crytek has dated the second chapter of Hunt: Showdown 1896’s Blood Testament event for October 6. The studio’s brief trailer announcement names several parts of the update, including compound changes, a new tool and another story challenge, while leaving the finer details for a developer broadcast.
What Crytek has confirmed
The official announcement describes “sweeping” changes to compounds across the bayou and mountains. It also lists a new DLC release, a story challenge, a community event, two tarot cards, one tool and Twitch Drops. Crytek has not yet identified the tool, explained the tarot-card effects or set out how the community event will work.
That distinction matters because the trailer is a schedule and feature outline rather than full patch notes. Players have a date and a list of planned additions, but not enough information to judge balance changes or progression requirements. Crytek also teases returning characters and new threats without naming them.
A livestream comes before the update
Crytek has scheduled a Chapter 2 developer livestream for October 1 at 6 p.m. CEST, five days before the update. The studio says the broadcast will cover what is coming in Chapter 2 and discuss the next stage of Blood Testament’s story. It will be carried on the company’s Twitch, YouTube and Steam channels.
For anyone deciding how much preparation is useful, the livestream is the better checkpoint. The announcement does not provide download size, event duration, reward thresholds or detailed compound layouts. Those gaps should not be filled with assumptions based on the trailer’s imagery.
Where Chapter 2 fits
Blood Testament began on September 8 with Update 2.9. That release introduced Bloodskin as a boss target, the Blood Moon time of day and the Burgess shotgun, among a longer list of additions and balance changes. Chapter 2 continues that event rather than replacing it with a separate season.
The October 6 date is the firmest practical detail for now. The developer stream should clarify whether every listed feature arrives at once and what players need to do to take part. Until then, the confirmed scope is limited to Crytek’s published checklist: compound revisions, DLC, a story challenge, a community event, two tarot cards, a tool, Twitch Drops and further narrative developments.
