Pearl Abyss published the full feature list for Charting the Unknown on October 20, ahead of the expansion’s October 29 launch for Crimson Desert Enhanced. The update loads the hours after the main story with three new storylines, underwater exploration and shipbuilding, romance and marriage, player-built housing, claimable castles, business management, and a boss gauntlet.

Three storylines and an earlier ocean thread

Three new storylines unlock after the main story ends, one for each playable lead: Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane. They start from the Journal menu. A separate ocean-focused storyline opens earlier, after the Howling Hill quest, so players can reach it before the credits roll.

All three leads can now dive into the sea around Pywel. Diving needs no special unlock, but staying underwater drains breath, and a diving suit or similar gear extends the timer. Below the surface are ruins, treasure chests, and new creatures and mounts.

Ships, romance, and a house of your own

Shipbuilding carries a harder gate. The questline only appears after the Greymane Camp is set up at Howling Hill. A ship is built by sending comrades on a dispatch mission at a port or bought from a Fleet Office manager, then sailed across the Great Ocean of Pywel.

Relationships now deepen into romance and marriage, and raising the camp to a certain level lets close friends visit and spend time there. The housing system upgrades so players can build a home from the ground up, though access requires the Howling Hill camp and completing Luke’s Request under the Grounds of the Sunrise faction quest.

Castles, businesses, and a boss gauntlet

Three named Greymane castles can be claimed after the main story, its relevant quests, and liberating each stronghold; their courtyards and interiors accept decorations. Business management lets players rent and run facilities across Pywel, from a restaurant in Vellua to a smithy at Zargan Tankworks, once the region is liberated and the camp is set. The Garden of Trials is a combat gauntlet that replays bosses from the campaign one after another, gated behind the main questline and paying out special rewards.

Most of it waits for the endgame

Nearly every headline system sits behind main-story progress or the Howling Hill camp. Shipbuilding, housing, business management, and castles all require late-campaign progress, so a returning player with a finished save can start most systems immediately while a new player waits. Pearl Abyss will publish full patch notes on release day. Unlock times are October 29 at 22:00 UTC (23:00 CEST) for Europe, 15:00 PT (18:00 ET) for North America, and October 30 at 07:00 KST/JST for Asia.
