Deadlock Adds Nurse Harrow, a Support Hero Who Fights With Leeches and Healing Needles

Valve shipped Nurse Harrow on October 20, the sixth and final hero in Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps rollout. She is a support-leaning character who drains enemies, patches up allies, and pushes opponents out of position, and her arrival closes a voting event that drew more than 110 million ballots.

The official Steam announcement places her at Manhattan’s Marble Hill Possession Ward and describes a kit with no straightforward damage spike. Every ability is built around a delayed or conditional payoff.

Four abilities built around sustain and disruption

Valve lists four named abilities and little else, leaving cooldowns, damage, healing values, ranges, durations, and upgrade paths unpublished:

  • Leech Therapy throws a jar of leeches that latch onto enemies, drain health and energy, then crawl back to hand over what they collected.
  • Wretched Vapors opens a vial that gives nearby allies a powerful effectiveness boost, with side effects once the vapors wear off.
  • Healing Needles loads a syringe and injects medicine directly into a teammate.
  • Lurking Terrors releases the creatures in her bag so enemies run for cover.

The kit commits before it pays off

Most of the kit delays its value. Leech Therapy only returns health and energy after the leeches crawl back, and Wretched Vapors pushes its downside to the end of the effect rather than the start. Healing Needles and Lurking Terrors both require Harrow to be close enough to a target to act. The result is a hero whose support value hinges on timing and positioning rather than a single strong button.

She also fills a gap in the recent roster. Earlier City Never Sleeps heroes leaned on other tools: Violet fought with living ink, and Deadman Danny brought a rocket launcher and aerial mobility. Nurse Harrow is the first of the six whose kit spans health, energy, ally enhancement, and forced movement at once.

City Never Sleeps ends with 110 million votes

Valve released the six heroes one at a time through a community voting event and closed the announcement with a set of participation figures. More than 110 million votes were cast overall. The closest matchup, Baba against Solomon, was decided by nearly 0.5 percent. Only 847 players voted in every round and picked the eventual winner each time, while 36,236 players voted in every round without ever choosing a winner.

Nurse Harrow carried a dedicated bloc: 22,194 players voted only for her, and one player cast exactly 1,000 votes. Valve also says her voters consistently posted a higher win rate than supporters of any other hero, though the announcement does not explain how that figure is calculated.

Valve treats the 110 million number as ballots, not players. Participants could vote repeatedly, and no unique-voter count was published. Deadlock is still listed as coming soon on Steam, so how the finished roster actually plays remains open.
