Risk of Rain 2’s Hallowed Concepts expansion is adding two more survivors to the roster: Enforcer and Acolyte. The Risk of Rain team introduced both in Dev Diary #4, posted to Steam on September 24, 2026.
The two survivors were designed by a squad of elite mod creators the studio recruited last year. In the diary, the team says it wanted to keep the classic Risk of Rain feel while carving out roles the current roster does not already cover.
Enforcer: a shield-first vanguard
Enforcer, nicknamed “The Line,” is built to stand in the thick of a fight. His active skill, Steel Protection, raises a shield that blocks everything while it is pointed at danger. Reactivating it at the right moment parries incoming projectiles, reflecting them back at their attackers and staggering nearby monsters.
Shield Tackle pushes Enforcer into the center of the action. It holds two charges, and spending both at once powers up the tackle to close distance. Rally Point slams the ground to create a shockwave that knocks enemies away and leaves a Holdout Beacon that grants allies a barrier; each kill restores part of that barrier.
Acolyte: a close-range glaive fighter
Acolyte fights up close with a glaive, and her kit centers on a modified healing mechanic. Her passive, N’Kuhana’s Grace, sets aside a portion of the health she loses so she can reclaim it later, and routes all incoming healing into that reserve pool instead.
Her primary attack is a three-hit glaive combo. Mid-swing, she can sprint to lunge through a target or jump to launch it skyward with an uppercut. Bola Throw rips the soul out of whatever it hits, while her special, Sacrifice, marks an enemy and channels the power of the Death God through it in a burst of damage. Kills build conviction, and the team teases more to come.
The survivor reveal is the fourth dev diary for Hallowed Concepts, following entries on new content and design goals, hexes and hallowed items, and the Trials of N’kuhana. It covers the two kits in detail but does not include a release date for the expansion.
