Re-Logic’s September 2026 State of the Game arrives with a milestone Terraria players have waited years to see: Crossplay Phase One is close enough that the studio is now putting the finishing touches on its submission. The monthly update, posted to the official Terraria forums, frames the next content drop as Terraria 1.4.6 under the working title “Pulling It All Together,” a name that reflects the update’s goal of unifying the game across platforms.
There is no hard date yet. Re-Logic writes only that it expects the submission to be ready “in the near future” and that it will announce the moment that happens. That wording matters because a crossplay rollout depends on version parity between PC and the console and mobile builds. The studio makes a point of how much that landscape has changed, noting that console and mobile are no longer months or years behind PC — the precondition that makes a shared multiplayer layer practical at all.
Phase Two is already on the roadmap, targeted to follow “as soon as possible” behind the first phase. Between the two, Re-Logic teases “a little something for everyone” but gives no detail, a deliberately vague signal that suggests the studio wants room to surprise players rather than over-promise features before they are locked down.
The report also consolidates the monthly developer section. Where State of the Game previously split PC and DR Studios news into separate columns, the combined team will now publish one developer update, calling out platform-specific notes only when something affects a single platform.
Elsewhere, Re-Logic recapped its first formal fan event since 2011. After Gamescom, several team members traveled to TapTap Game Fest 2026 in Shanghai, where the studio held two on-stage sessions and described itself as overwhelmed by the turnout. The 2011 reference point is co-founder Red’s solo press interviews around the original Terraria launch, making the China appearance a first for the team as a group.
For modders, the tModLoader monthly release for Terraria 1.4.4 goes live on October 1 with mostly bugfixes, while the tModLoader 1.4.5 build remains many months away. The team spent the past month porting the 1.4.5.8 hotfix changes into the 1.4.5 preview branch.
What the State of the Game does not do is commit a launch date. Until Re-Logic confirms the submission, Crossplay Phase One stays “near” rather than scheduled — a distinction worth keeping for anyone planning a cross-platform session.
