Last Epoch Season 5 will add one new skill to three masteries on October 1. Paladins receive Radiant Lance, Shamans gain Summon Tide Elemental, and Bladedancers get Dreamslash. Each skill has a distinct starting role, but its tree can redirect the build toward different damage types, resources, or supporting mechanics.
Radiant Lance rewards defensive investment
Radiant Lance pulls holy light into the Paladin’s shield before firing it outward. Its damage scales with block chance, including uncapped block chance, which gives shield builds another way to turn defense into offense. Cloudless Sky removes the shield requirement for two-handed weapon users and replaces block scaling with mana scaling.
Other nodes change where and how the spell lands. Cloud Burst targets enemies directly. Exterminatus adds a forward beam and a blast from above, allowing both parts to hit one target in exchange for cast speed and mana. Abyssal Heresy converts the skill to Void, while Golden Reliquary creates an invulnerable object that casts Radiant Lance for the player.
Shaman gets a configurable water minion
Summon Tide Elemental is the Shaman’s final mastery ability. Tidal Totem trades the minion’s movement for totem interactions, and Seahenge makes nearby totems gather around it. Water Spout lets a Tornado that touches the elemental redirect toward an enemy. Whirlpools ties the minion to the player’s Maelstrom tree, while Wellspring supplies cold spell damage and cast speed to nearby allies.
The tree can favor direct minion output or a support role. Elemental Fury builds cast speed over time, and Unleashed Elements spends those stacks on a burst of projectiles. Pools of Reverence removes the Wellspring benefit from the player but strengthens it for totems.
Dreamslash combines movement and attacks
Dreamslash is a low-cost Bladedancer attack that travels through enemies before delivering a slash. Shadows copy the skill and move past their targets. Nightmare Steel replaces the forward movement with a wave while keeping the melee classification. Other nodes add Dream stacks, Shadow Daggers, fire conversion, or repeatable shadow summons at a rising mana cost.
These previews show the decisions players will make in the skill trees, but they do not establish final balance. Damage values, breakpoints, and endgame performance will depend on the live Season 5 build and the rest of each character setup.
