Helldivers 2 Scope of Authority Warbond Adds Four Long-Range Weapons

Helldivers 2 will add the Scope of Authority Premium Warbond on October 20. Arrowhead Game Studios’ announcement presents a package built around long-range fire, concealment and tools for controlling enemies that move too close.

Four weapons cover different engagement ranges

The R-40 Sightliner is a bolt-action primary sniper rifle with armor-piercing ammunition. It is the most direct fit for the Warbond’s marksman theme, but the remaining weapons cover situations where a deliberate long-range shot is less practical.

The one-handed P-44 Mist machine pistol provides a compact secondary option. The backpack-fed AMW-20 Apex is a larger anti-materiel rifle with assisted reload, while the LAS-44 Nova is an energy rifle that fires a precise, non-explosive thermal projectile after a short charge. Arrowhead says the Nova has unlimited ammunition, as other weapons in its class do, but heat management and charge time still shape how often it can fire.

A separate G-11 Caltrops stratagem scatters proximity-triggered submunitions across an area. Rather than serving as another direct-damage weapon, the field slows and stuns enemies. That gives a squad time to reposition or line up shots, though the announcement does not provide cooldowns, damage values or ammunition counts.

Stationary Shroud rewards a low profile

Two armor sets carry the new Stationary Shroud passive. The SS-33 Mimetic Marshal is light armor inspired by a ghillie suit, while the SS-15 Focal Point is a medium set with adaptive camouflage and an asymmetrical visor. The passive reduces weapon sway and enemy detection range while the player is crouched or prone.

That condition matters: the published description does not promise the same concealment while standing or moving normally. The passive should therefore suit players who establish a firing position, but its practical strength cannot be judged until the game exposes its exact values and players test it after release.

What the purchase includes

The package also contains two capes with matching player cards, the Manual Ballistic Projection emote and the Longshot player title. Arrowhead’s announcement says access requires the base game, Super Credits and game progression. It does not state a Super Credit price in the published notice.

Scope of Authority is an optional equipment package, not a general balance patch. Players deciding whether to unlock it should separate the confirmed weapon roles and passive conditions from performance assumptions that cannot be checked before October 20.
