PUBG Update 43.2 Adds Rondo Night Mode and Clearer Team Markers

PUBG: Battlegrounds gameplay shown in the official Update 43.2 patch notes

PUBG: Battlegrounds Update 43.2 adds a limited Rondo mode built around generators and a dangerous night phase. The same patch also changes team communication, vehicle placement, custom matches and console controls.

PC live-server maintenance is scheduled for October 14 from 00:00 to 08:30 UTC. Console maintenance is set for October 22 from 01:00 to 09:00 UTC. Availability can shift if maintenance runs longer than planned.

Rondo gets a survival-focused night mode

SLB: Dawnbreakers of Rondo asks players to power generators and survive a deep-night phase before dawn. PUBG lists it as a separate upcoming mode, so its detailed rules and schedule are not part of the patch notes yet.

The previously announced Bentley collaboration also arrives with 43.2, but it is not the patch’s only change. Update 43.2 removes the Jujutsu Kaisen buildings and decorations from the maps and adds winning community modes from the PUBG: Playgrounds and CurseForge contest between October and December.

Markers carry more useful information

The Message Radial gains a request to board a vehicle and a request to move. World item markers now disappear beyond 300 meters. Care Packages, Deathboxes, Vending Machines, Loot Trucks and Crates use world markers instead, while off-screen indicators show markers and teammates outside the current map view.

Vehicle pools are also being aligned. On Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Vikendi, Deston and Rondo, Normal and Ranked matches will use the same vehicle types and quantities. Applicable maps receive six Motor Gliders: two fixed spawns with some fuel and four random spawns without fuel.

Console and custom-match controls expand

Console players receive two additional controller layouts. PUBG Standard adapts familiar console controls and becomes the default for new players, while Shooter Standard favors controls common to other shooters. Existing Type A, Type B, Type C and Custom presets remain available.

Object editing in Playgrounds adds undo and redo for as many as 50 actions, plus grouping controls. Custom Match hosts can set an explosion impulse multiplier from zero to ten, force a match to end after a ten-second warning, restrict PC lobby chat to the host and assign teams randomly.

Players should review their marker shortcuts and controller preset after the update rather than assuming the previous layout carried over unchanged.
