Dead by Daylight 10.2.0 Revises Five Perks Before Launch

A Killer chases Survivors in Dead by Daylight

Behaviour Interactive has revised five perks between Dead by Daylight’s 10.2.0 Public Test Build and the live update. The changes respond to concerns about solo Survivor coordination, attack recovery and anti-tunnel options. They are not the complete 10.2.0 patch notes; the studio said the full notes would follow separately.

Shoulder the Burden no longer penalizes the whole team

On the PTB, using Shoulder the Burden once deactivated the perk for every Survivor. Behaviour said that condition weighed too heavily on solo players, who cannot coordinate as easily as a premade group. The live version removes the shared deactivation rule.

This is Not Happening also loses its increase to the Great Skill Check zone. The studio cited feedback about pairing that effect with Hyperfocus. The rest of the official update does not claim that Hyperfocus itself is changing.

Dark Arrogance keeps a narrower recovery bonus

Dark Arrogance will no longer shorten the cooldown after a successful basic attack. Its recovery effect remains for missed and obstructed attacks. Behaviour said the PTB version let Killers recover too quickly after landing hits, shortening chases more than intended.

The distinction matters for build planning: the live adjustment does not remove the perk’s attack-recovery component altogether. It limits the benefit to attacks that fail to connect with a Survivor.

Windows stays, while Borrowed Time rolls back

Windows of Opportunity is set to keep its PTB changes. Behaviour acknowledged concerns about the effect on newer players but said the perk had been overshadowing alternatives. The studio pointed to other Survivor perks, including Dark Sense, as options it wants to make more useful.

Borrowed Time takes the opposite path. Its experimental PTB version is being dropped, and the perk returns to its current live form. The developer said it did not want to remove a useful anti-tunnel option.

What players should check at launch

These notes cover only the five highlighted perks. Players comparing builds should use the final 10.2.0 patch notes for the full release, because additional changes may arrive with the update. The confirmed PTB-to-live decisions are the Shoulder the Burden limitation removal, the narrower Dark Arrogance recovery effect, the This is Not Happening adjustment, the retained Windows of Opportunity changes and the Borrowed Time rollback.
