Apex Legends is giving Wildcard matches a two-sided ruleset for its Blood Pact event. From October 13 through November 3, squads can align with the Beasts or the Demons, then unlock faction-specific advantages by meeting objectives during a match.
The choice is more than a theme. Respawn’s announcement assigns three Wild Cards to each faction, with the Beast set focused on movement and weapon handling while the Demon set favors ability uptime and shields. The temporary event also turns Kings Canyon into a darker, less predictable battlefield.
Challenges unlock the faction perks
Each round presents a challenge based on dealing damage or securing knocks. Completing it awards the selected faction’s Wild Card, so access to the perks depends on match performance rather than a permanent account unlock.
Beast players can earn Evasive Maneuvers, which increases movement speed and adds a double jump while weapons are stowed. Fast Draw shortens weapon reloads and shield-cell use, while Critical Roll grants temporary critical hits after a reload.
The Demon options emphasize staying power. Speedy Charge accelerates Tactical and Ultimate charging, Shields Up provides Epic-level shields, and Super Cells makes shield cells restore all shield health. Respawn has not published percentage values or exact timings for these effects in the announcement, so their practical strength will have to be judged in the live event.
Kings Canyon trades clear sightlines for ambushes
Blood Pact’s version of Kings Canyon can generate fog during a match. That reduces visibility and makes squad movement harder to track. Returning Rev Shell Grenades offer one way to locate players in the dark, while haunted buildings, glowing Nessies, altered loot bins and pumpkin-styled EVO orbs change the map’s presentation.
The official post also previews Blood Pact cosmetics for Sparrow, Alter and the R-99. Those store additions are separate from the faction mechanics, and the announcement does not list prices.
A small fix list accompanies the event
Respawn says a recent patch fixed updated language packs being inaccessible on some platforms. Its current known-issues list includes Alter portals placing players incorrectly, clipping through structures on Broken Moon, and settings resetting at startup for some players.
That list is a status snapshot, not a promise that the issues will be resolved when Blood Pact begins. Players affected by them should check Respawn’s public tracking board and later patch notes for changes.
