Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027. The official Forza site is taking PS5 pre-orders and confirms that the racing game, already available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, is moving to Sony’s console.
The expansion arrives before the PS5 version
The timing needs one clarification. IGN reported that the PS5 edition and the first expansion would arrive on the same day. The current Forza product page instead dates the expansion for January 21, five days before the PS5 release. It says the expansion is included with the Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade, while also being sold separately.
That distinction matters for players deciding when to buy. Existing Xbox and PC owners can enter the expansion first. PS5 players join later in the same week, with the base game and its established campaign available on their platform from January 26.
What carries over to PlayStation
Playground Games sets this entry in Japan, combining rural roads with a dense version of Tokyo. The official overview lists more than 550 cars and a campaign that begins with the player as a tourist trying to qualify for the Horizon Festival. Progress opens faster cars, new wristbands and Legend Island.
The feature list also covers solo and cooperative play, Time Attack circuits, Drag Meets, Car Meets and established multiplayer modes such as The Eliminator and Hide & Seek. CoLab expands the EventLab toolset with multiplayer building and lets creators place custom events across the world map.
Pre-order details
Forza’s site links directly to the PlayStation Store and promotes PS5 pre-orders. The Premium Edition is the relevant option for buyers who also want the first expansion, although regional prices and storefront terms should be checked before purchase.
The official material confirms the dates and platform rollout but does not describe the expansion’s setting or activities on the main product page. Until Playground Games publishes those details, the dependable distinction is the schedule: expansion access on January 21 and the PS5 launch on January 26.
