Digital Extremes has dated the next step in Warframe’s journey back to Tau. Devstream #198, titled Tau Part One, airs Friday, October 30 at 2 PM ET on the studio’s Twitch channel, and it is the first of two planned Tau showcases rather than a single wrap-up.
The clearest reason to tune in is a Twitch drop. Watching the broadcast from start to finish earns a Tauforged Archon Shard Grab Bag, which grants one of six shard colors: Crimson, Amber, Azure, Topaz, Violet, or Emerald. Digital Extremes does not say which shard a viewer will receive, so the reward is best treated as a random pull rather than a way to target a specific build.
The stream is also the next dated beat in a broader Tau push. The live Epoch Operation: Taubound runs from October 15 through November 17, tasking players with clearing Infested on Eris to collect Moonflesh and power the Sentient mothership Praghasa. A permanent Prologue to Tau quest continues the single-player cinematic campaign, and the October roadmap originally mapped out this Taubound and Tau sequence. Devstream #198 is the next announced step in that storyline.
What the hour actually contains is still mostly unknown. Digital Extremes has said the development team will walk you through the scope of Tau and beyond, but there is no segment list, no release window for Tau content, and no date for the second showcase. The title and that single sentence are the extent of what is confirmed.
October 30 is also a double-feature day for the studio. Warframe Devstream #198 runs from 2 PM ET to 3 PM ET, and Soulframe Devstream 18 follows from 3:30 PM ET to 4:30 PM ET. The Tauforged Archon Shard Grab Bag is tied to the Warframe broadcast only; the announcement does not list a drop for the Soulframe segment.
A few details remain open beyond the showcase itself. The announcement does not specify whether the shard is guaranteed Tauforged rank, whether the six colors are equally weighted, or whether drop eligibility differs by platform. Players who want the reward should plan to watch the full 2 PM to 3 PM ET block, since start to finish is the only eligibility rule stated.
