Forza Horizon 5 has a new Festival Playlist reward, and it is a sharper JDM pick than the average weekly rotation. The 1998 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R is available to unlock from October 15 through October 22, and it sits at the 20-point seasonal tier rather than at the top of the ladder.

The GP Version R is the performance-focused version of Mitsubishi’s FTO coupe. The official announcement describes a 2.0-liter V6 with MIVEC variable-valve technology, plus a limited-slip differential and sport-tuned suspension added to the handling package. On the visual side, the car arrives with a new body kit that the developers frame as a major aerodynamic improvement, along with Version R decals on the panels and rear wing.

The unlock ladder splits into two seasonal tiers and two series tiers. Twenty seasonal points award the FTO, and 40 points award a Backstage Pass. On the longer series track, 80 points unlock the 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E, and 160 points unlock the 1992 GMC Typhoon.

Reaching 20 points does not require clearing the entire playlist. The Trial, a 1990s Rally event called Rally Cat, is worth 10 points on its own, and the Forzathon Weekly adds 5 more. Two of the three-point seasonal championships close the gap, so a player who clears the Trial, the Forzathon Weekly, and two championships crosses 20 points without touching the PR stunts or photo challenges. That is one efficient route rather than the only one: points also sit in EventLab races, PR stunts, a treasure hunt, and Hide and Seek for players who prefer a different mix.

Once the car is in the garage, customization needs no additional unlocks. The announcement lists Forza and Bozz Speed body parts, covering two front bumpers, two rear wings, and a wing-removal option.

The window is short. The playlist closes on October 22, and seasonal points reset with the next rotation, so the FTO will not be available from the series tiers after this week ends.
