Blizzard has added Kyle’s Gone Missing to the World of Warcraft: Forever beta. The quest now appears in Mulgore, according to the company’s October 1 development notes.
The change is unusually specific. Forever is built around an early version of World of Warcraft, while Kyle’s Gone Missing originally arrived later. Blizzard has nevertheless brought the quest into this version after players asked for it on the official forums.
A small exception to the project’s historical boundary
The official notes list the addition under Mulgore without attaching broader balance changes or a new quest chain. That wording supports a narrow conclusion: the beta now includes this quest. It does not establish that Blizzard plans to import other later-era quests or loosen Forever’s wider content rules.
The community request focused on the meaning behind Kyle’s Gone Missing. The quest is associated with Ahab Wheathoof and his dog, Kyle, and players argued that its commemorative role justified an exception. Before confirming the change in its development notes, Blizzard community manager Kaivax replied in the same forum thread that the team was working on it.
What beta players can verify
Players testing Forever can look for the quest in Mulgore and report problems through Blizzard’s beta channels. Because the announcement is part of development notes, the implementation remains beta content rather than a guarantee that every detail will reach the live release unchanged.
The notes do not provide revised rewards, a new level requirement, or a redesigned objective. They only confirm that Kyle’s Gone Missing has been added. Players should avoid treating details from another version of World of Warcraft as confirmed Forever behavior unless those details appear in the beta itself or in later Blizzard documentation.
Why the wording matters
This update shows Blizzard making one documented exception without announcing a general change of direction. That distinction keeps expectations in check: a meaningful quest is present in the beta, but the company has not used the addition to promise a larger wave of post-vanilla content.
For now, the verifiable change is limited and clear. Kyle’s Gone Missing is in Mulgore in the Forever beta, and its arrival follows a public request made through Blizzard’s own community forum.
