IO Interactive has expanded 007 First Light with Extended Operations, a free DLC package built around replay options and new TacSim assignments. The studio’s official posts list New Game+, a tougher 00 difficulty, Photo Mode and two additional scenarios.
New Game+ carries equipment into another run
New Game+ lets players begin another playthrough with the gadgets and outfits unlocked during their first run. It also opens the new 00 difficulty. IO Interactive describes that setting as the option for players seeking the DLC’s hardest campaign challenge, but its announcement does not provide numerical changes to enemy health, detection or damage.
The accompanying Update 1.3.0 notes add useful context to the release. IO Interactive says Extended Operations is the game’s first major free DLC and that the same update includes more than 700 fixes and improvements. Those changes cover crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and interface issues. Players looking for a specific correction should consult the complete patch notes rather than assume every reported problem was addressed.
Photo Mode can submit scenes for in-game display
Photo Mode freezes the action for screenshots. IO Interactive says captured scenes may be selected for display in the game, although the announcement does not describe the selection process or guarantee that a submitted image will appear.
The two TacSim additions revisit different settings. Valhalla Protocol places Bond in a weaponized Aston Martin for a timed drive through the Slovakian mountains. Jungle Heist returns to The Pearl in Vietnam for an assignment involving confidential documents. Both feed into the game’s global leaderboard, giving players a score-based reason to repeat them.
The official posts establish a two-stage timeline
IO Interactive’s detailed Update 1.3.0 announcement was published on October 1 and described the DLC as live. A second promotional post on October 5 again announced that Extended Operations was available and highlighted its trailer. The later post also advertised a Steam Autumn Sale discount, which is separate from the DLC itself: Extended Operations is described as free for owners of the game.
The official material confirms the modes and mission outlines, but it does not say how long the TacSim assignments take or how the 00 difficulty compares with prior settings in measurable terms. Those details should come from documented rules or testing rather than inference.
