Amplitude Studios will present the first gameplay footage from Humankind 2 on October 15. The broadcast is scheduled for 15:00 CEST, or 9:00 a.m. EDT and 6:00 a.m. PDT, on the official Humankind YouTube channel.
What the October 15 stream will cover
The studio describes the event as the sequel’s first gameplay reveal. It says the stream will show the game in action and introduce some of its new features, improvements and player experiences. Amplitude has not published a running time or a detailed agenda, so viewers should not assume that every system will be demonstrated.
Humankind 2 is a historical turn-based strategy game planned for 2027. Its official Steam listing says players will combine cultures across different eras, build cities, command armies and respond to a changing climate. The listing identifies Amplitude Studios as both developer and publisher. It currently names Windows as the supported platform.
Early testing applications close October 20
The reveal announcement also points players to the Humankind 2 Insiders Program. Applications for its first wave close October 20. Applicants need an Amplifiers account and must be comfortable communicating in English.
Selection is not guaranteed. According to the studio’s separate program notice, successful applicants will be contacted through the email associated with their Amplifiers account. They will receive access to a private Discord server, dedicated Amplifiers channels and a one-use Steam key for a test build. People who are not selected for the first wave may still be considered for later waves.
Why Amplitude is opening the game early
Amplitude says it wants feedback on areas that require longer play sessions, including pacing, balance and progression. The program is therefore a structured testing channel rather than an open beta or a promise of permanent access. Participants are expected to discuss their experience through the studio’s private community spaces.
The October 15 presentation and the Insiders Program serve different purposes. The stream is a public first look at gameplay; the program is a selective route into a development build. Players who only want to watch the reveal do not need to apply for testing.
