AION 2 Sets Global Launch Servers and Cross-Faction Pairings

NCsoft has published the server lineup for AION 2‘s October 5 global launch. Players will choose a region, then a faction, before selecting a server. The setup keeps Elyos and Asmodian characters on separate servers while pairing those servers for shared competitive modes.

The official lists cover Europe, North America West, North America East, Latin America and Asia. Europe starts with the largest pool: 18 Elyos-Asmodian pairings across advanced-access and launch servers. North America East has eight pairings, Latin America has six, and North America West and Asia each have five.

One faction lives on each server

Each server hosts only one of the two factions. That choice does not isolate its population from the opposing side. NCsoft says matched servers meet in cross-faction activities, including Spacetime Rifts and the Abyss.

The published example pairs the Asmodian server Israphel with the Elyos server Siel. Under that arrangement, Israphel players entering an eligible mode encounter opponents from Siel. The same principle applies across the rest of the launch table, giving each server an identified rival at release.

Pairings can change after launch

The first matching table is not permanent. NCsoft says it will update pairings periodically to help keep the factions balanced. A current rival may therefore change later, even if a player’s home server does not.

That policy separates two decisions that could otherwise be confused. A player chooses a faction and home server at the start, while NCsoft controls which opposing server supplies cross-faction competition. The announcement does not provide a timetable or numerical threshold for future rematches, so it would be premature to predict when a particular pairing will move.

What players should check before choosing

The server list distinguishes launch servers from those marked for advanced access. Players coordinating with friends should agree on the same region, faction and server rather than relying only on a server name, because familiar names such as Siel and Israphel appear in several regional tables.

The official notice confirms the opening lineup and initial matchups. It does not guarantee that every pairing will remain unchanged or publish server-capacity figures. Those details should come from later NCsoft notices rather than estimates based on the number of listed servers.
