AION 2 will go offline for an eight-hour maintenance window as NCsoft closes Advanced Access and prepares the MMORPG for its commercial launch. The company says game logins will be unavailable during the work and connected players will be disconnected when maintenance begins.
The scheduled window starts October 4 at 10 p.m. PDT, which is October 5 at 7 a.m. CEST. If the full eight-hour estimate holds, service would return at 6 a.m. PDT or 3 p.m. CEST on October 5. NCsoft describes that duration as a plan rather than a guarantee and says any timing changes will be added to the official notice.
The outage marks a change in access
This is not presented as a routine restart. NCsoft lists two main outcomes for the maintenance: the Advanced Access period ends and commercial launch begins. Players who entered through Advanced Access should therefore expect a hard break between the preview period and the wider release rather than uninterrupted play through the launch transition.
The affected-services field names the game servers. The notice does not promise that login access will return early, and it does not announce compensation, new gameplay systems or balance changes. Those points should not be inferred from the length of the window.
What players can do before maintenance
Anyone planning a long session near the cutoff should finish time-sensitive activities before 10 p.m. PDT. Remaining online does not preserve a session: the official notice says players will be disconnected once maintenance starts. It is also worth checking the notice again near the scheduled opening, since NCsoft may revise the timetable while work is underway.
The maintenance follows NCsoft’s publication of the global server lineup and faction pairings. Those earlier details explain where players can begin at launch; this notice establishes when the service transition is scheduled to happen. Keeping the two announcements separate matters because server selection information does not override a later operational update.
